The ENVI-met and EnergyPlus models were built based on field measurements on the green space of Xi’an Jiaotong University Qujiang Campus. The major objective of this research was to explore the cooling and energy saving benefits of SGs with administrative units. Different from urban parks, the cooling effect of small green space (SGs) has not been paid enough attention or fully evaluated. The contradiction between the shortage of urban land and the demand for urban green space needs to be solved reasonably. Meanwhile, comparing with the vague and restricted expression of objectives in multi-objective optimization, the proposed GP-based optimization method provides explicit trade-off relationships among various objectives for designers, which improves the practical value of the optimized designs, so as to ensure the project success and facilitate the development of green buildings. The optimization is carried out under the ideal air conditioning system, considering different energy usage patterns. ![]() In this case, the envelope-related variables, including the exterior wall and window, serve as optimization objectives. A case study with five possible design scenarios was dedicated in this study to implement the proposed optimization method, and the optimization results verified the capacity of the established GP-based optimization method to satisfy various design requirements for decision makers and/or stakeholders, especially in facing the hierarchical objectives with different priorities. ![]() Simultaneously, Genetic Algorithm (GA) is used to improve the efficiency of overall building energy performance optimization by processing multiple iterations. In this proposed method, EnergyPlusTM works as a simulation engine to search for the relationship between design parameter combinations and building energy consumption. In order to precisely express the goals of building designs, and help decision makers estimate the ultimate performance of design schemes in advance when searching for the optimal building design, the Goal Programming Model (GPM) is introduced in this study to provide a solution for explicit design objective delivery and multi-stakeholder involved decision-making support. The aim of this review is to present the current state of knowledge of the aspects mentioned above, to promote continued progress in BIPV and to inform suitable standardization efforts.īuilding energy efficiency, which is critical in reducing environmental impact, has become one of the most important objectives of building designs. This is not the sole challenge for the electrical designers, as the special operating conditions of BIPV systems such as non-homogeneous irradiance complicate the electrical design and the forecasting of BIPV performance. However, architecturally adapted BIPV design may affect the electrical performance also, by reducing the efficiency of BIPV modules and systems compared to standard photovoltaic (PV) ones. ![]() The optical properties of BIPV modules, such as light transmittance or color rendering, also play a role in the search for a good balance between energy saving, electricity generation, aesthetics and visual comfort. Suitable standardization to evaluate heat transfer and solar heat gain by BIPV modules still need to be developed further since BIPV elements behave differently to the building elements they substitute. ![]() The energy-related behavior of BIPV modules includes thermal, solar, optical and electrical aspects. This paper reviews the main energy-related features of building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) modules and systems, to serve as a reference for researchers, architects, BIPV manufacturers, and BIPV designers.

Below are the NFHS rule changes and Points of Emphasis for the 2017-18 season. And that also means this is now my new favorite slab. It gives me all the benefits of a TKL keyboard design, but with the utility of a full-size board. Read our full Wooting Two HE review (opens in new tab).Ī thoroughly TKL or 60% keyboard will likely be cheaperĪnswer me this: why the hell has everyone been sticking the Numpad on the right-hand side of their gaming keyboards? The new Mountain Everest Max gaming keyboard means I can instead jam it onto the left-hand side, and that makes a whole lot more sense to me. There's also the superb Wooting HE60 (opens in new tab), which we're big fans of but it is admittedly not for everyone due to its compact size. The Wooting Two HE is analog at its very best, and if you want heaps of customisability, this is the gaming keyboard for you. That's one benefit of there not really being all that many mechanical moving parts with a magnetic Lekker switch, and another is that there's less to break in the first place. If a switch breaks, you can swap it out, as the board itself is hot-swappable. The keyboard is solid, well-built, and comes with a two-year warranty. Or if you're really accurate, have a key do two different things depending on how far you press it. ![]() You could chain skills, moves, or spells in-game by applying them all to a single keypress. If you want heaps of customisability, this is the gaming keyboard for you.ĭo you want to have your entire moveset mapped to a single power key in-game? It's certainly possible. It puts some other larger manufacturers to shame with how easy and smart-looking it is, in fact. It's simple, well put together, and has only improved since I last used it. Of all the peripheral-specific applications out there, and boy are there a lot of them, I don't mind the Wootility one bit, either. That means you'll largely want to set your left analogue stick up, down, left, right to your WASD keys on the Wooting, in order to replicate the best bits of analogue controller movement. In the Wootility v4 (opens in new tab) software (amazing), a game will need to register this switch actuation as either DirectInput or Xinput. Where the older Wooting boards relied on optical Flaretech switches, the newer HE board uses the Lekker switch, made by Wooting with popular switch maker Gateron, and relies on the Hall effect (hence Wooting Two 'HE') to achieve analogue input. The Wooting Two HE differs from the Wooting One and Wooting Two in how it measures analogue input, however. And because every key is analog, you can use the analog functionality to your advantage in heaps of interesting ways. The latest, the Wooting Two HE, uses magnets and the Hall effect to achieve what is an incredibly accurate analog movement across every key on the keyboard. Wooting helped usher in the analog age of gaming keyboards, and it's still ruling the roost with every new keyboard it designs. The Wooting measures the entire key press. And we've also tested out the best cheap gaming keyboards (opens in new tab) for anyone on a budget looking for further options than those budget boards listed below. ![]() If you're not caught up with the keyboard types, we can help determine what keyboard style is right for you (opens in new tab), too.īelow we've compiled a list of the best gaming keyboards for every kind of gamer, whether you're a Cherry Red or a Razer Green person. These are all gaming keyboards each of us has tested vigorously, in our home and work life our Alan's key presses alone are violent enough to check a board's integrity, for sure. The option of a 60% gaming keyboard or going tenkeyless (TKL) will help you reclaim precious desk space, whereas a full-sized keyboard is more likely to come packed with media controls akin to a high-tech space station. The other thing to consider is keyboard size. Read up on the best mechanical keyboard switches (opens in new tab) if you're feeling like a deep dive, but it basically boils down to three types: linear, clicky, and tactile. And keyboard switches come in such a cornucopia of colors and types that it's enough to make the layman cry. Media controls, volume wheels, keycaps, macro keys, and the actual switches used are just some of the things you need to consider. Gaming keyboard preferences vary wildly and the number of options can be overwhelming. ![]() Stand in the gap in the wall there, and you’ll see an ankh to the south that you can hookshot to. The orbiter's OMS and RCS fuel is monomethyl hydrazine (CH 3NHNH 2), and the oxidizer is dinitrogen tetroxide (N 2O 4). The RCS also controlled the attitude of the orbiter during most of its re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere – until the air became dense enough that the rudder, elevons and body flap became effective. The PRCS system provided the pointing control of the Orbiter, and the VRCS was used for fine maneuvering during the rendezvous, docking, and undocking maneuvers with the International Space Station, or formerly with the Russian Mir space station. The aft RCS engines were located in the two Orbital Maneuvering System (OMS) pods at the rear of the orbiter, and these included 12 primary (PRCS) and two vernier (VRCS) engines in each pod. The forward rockets of the Reaction Control System, located near the nose of the Space Shuttle orbiter, included 14 primary and two vernier RCS rockets. These were all operations that required more thrust and impulse than mere attitude control. This system also executed any needed orbital maneuvers, including all changes in the orbit's altitude, orbital plane, and eccentricity. This control system carried out the usual attitude control along the pitch, roll, and yaw axes during all of the flight phases of launching, orbiting, and re-entry. The Reaction Control System (RCS) was composed of 44 small liquid-fueled rocket thrusters and their very sophisticated fly-by-wire flight control system, which utilized computationally intensive digital Kalman filtering. Space Shuttle forward reaction control thrusters These, along with a movable body flap located underneath the main engines, controlled the orbiter during later stages of reentry. There were four elevons mounted at the trailing edges of the delta wings, and the combination rudder and speed brake was attached at the trailing edge of the vertical stabilizer. The vertical stabilizer of the orbiter had a leading edge that was swept back at a 45-degree angle. 2 Shuttle Orbiter Specifications (OV-105)Ībout the size of a McDonnell Douglas DC-9, the Space Shuttle orbiter resembled an airplane in its design, with a standard-looking fuselage and two double delta wings, both swept wings at an angle of 81 degrees at their inner leading edges and 45 degrees at their outer leading edges. The orbiters themselves did carry hypergolic propellants for their Reaction Control System (RCS) thrusters and Orbital Maneuvering System (OMS) engines. Additionally, two reusable solid rocket boosters (SRBs) provided additional thrust for approximately the first two minutes of launch. In addition to their crews and payloads, the reusable orbiter carried most of the Space Shuttle System's liquid-propellant rocket system, but both the liquid hydrogen fuel and the liquid oxygen oxidizer for its three main rocket engines were fed from an external cryogenic propellant tank. Atlantis completed the final Shuttle flight, STS-135, on July 21, 2011. Discovery completed its final flight on March 9, 2011, and Endeavour completed its final flight on June 1, 2011. In 2003, Columbia was destroyed during re-entry, leaving just three remaining orbiters. Endeavour was built as Challenger 's successor, and was first launched in 1992. In 1986, Challenger was destroyed in an accident shortly after its 10th launch. Challenger, Discovery, and Atlantis followed in 1983, 1984, and 1985 respectively.
